MONO in MONO: DENON DL 102

Developed initially for broadcasting, the Denon DL-102 phono cartridge was designed to reproduce superior sound from monaural recorded records. The high output mono signal is designed to work with a standard moving magnet input.

A true mono phono design, the Denon DL-102 cartridge is capable of outstanding musicality when replaying monaural records. There are also those who believe that the DL-102 plays stereo records magnificently well.

ORTOFON SMG 212

...such a simple design...

Simply the workhorse of vintage Ortofon tonearms...the first impression was a sense of naturalness and musicality that exudes from all over the room...the control is excellent and the dynamic impresses me. Only few tonearms offer such a wonderful sound from my beloved SPU...despite the years, this SMG212 is an excellent tonearm and, perhaps, still the ideal match for the Ortofon SPU and Thorens TD124 turntable.
